Support Worker Requirements
Qualifications and Attributes Required
Absolute In Home Care aims to match the attributes of the support worker to the needs of the individual’s requirements. Our carers have a range of skills, experience, training and personal qualities.
As a minimum our carers all have:
Current First Aid Certificate and CPR.
Many support workers hold or are studying to achieve a qualification in their chosen area, such as their Certificate III, IV, Diploma or Bachelor in Disability Care, Community Care and Services, Aged Care, education or other relevant field. Many of our team have backgrounds in nursing, disability, mental health services and specialised care areas, such as MND training, Autism, MS Multiple Sclerosis, 24/7 care, Dementia, intellectual and physical disabilities.
We look for people who are passionate about working with others, are sensitive to the needs of those with disabilities, reliable, experienced, and dedicated. We support individuals throughout Melbourne and across Victoria and while a car is beneficial, it is not essential for many positions where public transport is an option.
We are here for you and are continuing to offer supports.
We are happy to answer any questions you have.
We are taking new referrals for our services that we offer.
We are keeping our participants safe with our carers all completing infection control - COVID-19 training.
We understand the importance of good hygiene practices.
A huge thank you for sticking with us during these times.
