TAC WorkSafe
TAC WorkSafe
If you or a family member have been affected by a road accident and have a current approval (Claim Number) through the TAC, we may be able to assist you to care for you and your family and home whilst you recover. We offer Post Acute Care, Attendant Care, Home Services (cleaning) and Child Care in the home. Included below is the TAC information relating to these services. We as a registered TAC provider must supply services under the guidelines of what the TAC approves. Please chat with us about your specific circumstances.
Post Acute – Attendant Care Support
Post acute support is provided to clients assessed as requiring support in personal care, mobility, transfers, banking or shopping after being discharged from a hospital.
Home Services
TAC ‘Home services’ refer to the household tasks you normally performed for yourself or others in your family. This mainly refers to general householding cleaning. If there are certain household tasks you can’t do because of your transport accident injuries, the TAC may be able to temporarily pay for workers to do these tasks for you.
Most people need home services support for only a short period of time. It is important that you continue doing the household tasks you are still able to perform and that you take on more household tasks yourself as you recover from your transport accident injuries.
Child Care Services
Child Care Services refers to duties and tasks that relate to the direct care of a child, such as feeding and bathing, which a client performed prior to the transport accident. These services replace the care and supervision of a child whose caregiver has sustained injuries that prevent or limit the normal provision of these services. Most people need child care services support for only a short period of time. It is important that you continue doing the tasks you are still able to perform and that you take on more tasks yourself as you recover from your transport accident injuries.
What can the TAC pay for?
The TAC will fund the reasonable costs of approved child care services/post-acute services and home services that you may need as a result of your injuries from a transport accident.
The needs of every person are different, and the TAC looks at each case individually when determining what to pay. Whether a service is reasonable or not depends, in part, on whether the treatment or service is contributing to your recovery.
Recovering from an accident can be a challenging and emotional time. The most important person for a successful recovery is you. The TAC is here to support people who have had road accidents in achieving your goal of recovering and moving on with your life.
The TAC will consider:
Your transport accident injuries
The treatment you are receiving for your transport accident injuries
The child care/households tasks you performed before the transport accident
The child care/household tasks you or your family members can continue to do
Information about your needs provided by your health professionals
The TAC will consider this information and make a decision on how much post acute – attendant care, child care and home services is reasonable for your individual situation. For further information on TAC and payments you can visit the TAC website.
Child Care: TAC will pay for a certain amount of your child care component providing you have approval and have nominated Absolute In Home Care as your selected provider. We as a registered provider charge an out of pocket fee to all clients receiving the child care service component. We will send you an invoice directly each fortnight for the out of pocket payment to be made within 7 days of invoice date. TAC will pay for your approved component only.
How long can you receive home services?
Your needs will change as you recover from your transport accident injuries. The TAC will continually review your services to ensure that they are reasonable and reflect what you can, and cannot, do. To assist with this review, TAC may request information about your treatment and ongoing needs from your medical practitioner or other health professionals. You will be quickly advised if we as a provider need to make any decision that affects your services. If you have a Transport Accident Commission (TAC) approved claim for care, please contact us to discuss your needs.
